Meadow Mist Designs

By day Cheryl Brickey works as an engineer and patent agent for a private textile and chemical company. She enjoys seeing new inventions being developed and loves that even when she isn’t sewing quilts, she is still working with and learning about textiles.

Cheryl has always been creative, trying her hand at cake decorating, cooking, and crocheting, but she has always had a special love for quilts—even though there were no quilters in her family. When her daughter was ready for a “big girl” toddler bed, Cheryl decided to make her a quilt. After a trip to Joann’s for a cutting mat, rotary cutter, and ruler—and armed with her mother’s old 1980s slant-shank Singer sewing machine plus hours spent reading blogs and watching YouTube tutorials—she made her first quilt. She has been hooked ever since.

Cheryl loves the online quilting community and has truly found a home there. She feels incredibly fortunate to have connected with so many talented quilters and to call many of them friends.
