Drawing Stitches -   The newest stitch sampler from Dropcloth Samplers is finally here, and it's got more stitches than any other sampler in the collection. Introducing the Drawing Stitches Sampler. Inspired by the marks I found myself making in my own sketchbooks, this sampler is packed with no less than 31 different stitches for you to discover, practice, and master. You'll be left with a work of art to hang on your wall and a reference point for future embroidery projects. But wait, there's more! There's a Creativebug Daily Challenge based on this sampler. Each day I'll be there guiding you through a different stitch. Let's hang out and do this! The stitches range from easy to moderate, with nary a french knot in the bunch. I promise, you can do it!

PLEASE NOTE: This item is not embroidered, but ready to be embroidered by YOU. The pictures show one way to fill in the design, but you can choose whatever colors/threads you like.

What size is it?

This Sampler measures approximately 10" x 13".

What thread should I use?

We use a combination of size 8 perle cotton and/or embroidery floss.

How should I back my sampler?

For best results, I recommend backing this fabric with a second piece of fabric (cotton or linen) before placing your fabric in the hoop. You'll get the flattest, most even stitches this way. Check out the how-to for this step on Creativebug or IGTV (@dropcloth)

What size hoops should I use?

I like a size 6—but use whatever you hoop you have on hand.
