Collection: Farmstead by Stacy Iest Hsu

Most folks that farm come from a long lineage of farmers. This stands true for my family as well. Farmstead celebrates the journey of my family's farm history, starting with my Great Grandfather Simon Cornelius Iest. He started his agricultural career running a creamery in Bathmen, Netherlands. In 1921, he decided to move to America with his wife and 12-year-old son, my grandfather, Rudolf Iest. There he started several businesses, but eventually started his own dairy. This fostered a love of agriculture for my grandfather, father, uncles, and brothers.

The prints in Farmstead are a celebration of agriculture from the past, my great- grandmother Johanna’s love of flowers and tradition passed down from generations. Vintage blues, golds, reds, and earth tones create a palette perfect
for any sewing project. This collection also includes three panels, a farm animal blocks panel in two color ways, and a sweet farm cut-and-sew book. The five quilts in this collection also celebrate farm life and its beauty.

Farmstead is my way of honoring the hard work and perseverance of the past and for all those farmers who provide so much to our world today.
